About Us

Chickamauga Lions Club was chartered by Lions Clubs International on November 7, 1966. Our hometown is the historic City of Chickamauga, Georgia. Through the intervening years we have supported the charitable projects of Lions Multiple District 18, District 18A, and Lions Clubs International.

The club members are from various walks of life, working together to improve our local community and assist those in need.

Chickamauga Lions Club conducts two major fundraising projects each year, Down Home Days and the annual Steak Dinner and Cash Giveaway. Down Home Days is held in the spring each year and is one of the most popular events in the area. With the cooperation of the City of Chickamauga, the main part of town is made available for arts and crafts venders, food venders, games and entertainment.

Some of the most well-known performers at Down Home Days include Andy Griggs, Cody McCarver, Luke Bryan, Confederate Railroad, The Clark Family, Montgomery Gentry, Ricky Skaggs, Charlie Daniels, Chris Cagle, Rebecca Lynn Howard, and Ronnie Milsap.

The annual Steak Dinner and Cash Giveaway is held in November. A ticket to this event will get you two steak dinners and the opportunity to win cash prizes. This event is catered by Outback Steakhouse. The cash giveaway is a reverse raffle where the last ticket standing wins $10,000. There are other cash prizes given away as well.

Money raised from these events will go back to the community in the form of humanitarian services. A portion is shared with MD18 and Lions International to assist in world-wide humanitarian projects.
